I have been actively involved in the local Holmdel community since moving here with his family in 2012. I grew up on Staten Island and graduated from Stony Brooke University in Manhattan where I met my wife Leslie. With four children at home, we are heavily involved in the community and school system. Our youngest, Keaton attends Village Elementary. Elle and Liam attend Indian Hill. Our oldest, Turner is a student at William R Satz Middle School. My parents live in Marlboro, and two of my sisters and their families live in the local area as well.
I own BFF Lending — a thriving mortgage brokerage business located in Holmdel. Since opening in 2016, we have been continuously growing and adding new team members. Together, with my team, we help over 500 families every year by saving them money and time during the home buying and refinancing process. In addition, we enjoy giving back to our local community on a regular basis through charitable acts and financial giving.
My extensive community involvement began just after moving to the area. I joined the EMS and served as a volunteer ambulance driver for seven years. I also began coaching for the HYAA that same year and has been coaching several of my children’s teams for multiple sports since.
In 2015, I was approached by a sitting member of the Planning Board and asked to join. I served in this role for five years. My experience with approving plans for the development of commercial properties and the subdivision of land brings a fresh new perspective to the town council, especially when it comes to the issue of protecting open space. While serving on the Planning Board, I was responsible for ensuring the plans presented did not go against the master plan and protected the community from invading big box companies.
In 2018 I was again approached and asked to run for the Board of Education by sitting members. While serving the ’19-’21 term, I served as the Budget and Finance Chair. During that time, the Board of Education implemented a tax reduction, installed a new Superintendent, finished up the 2020 referendum on time and under budget, while also earmarking funds for the multipurpose turf field that has been in the works for the last eight years. I also ensured the field will be built on school grounds rather than public property.
I recently was appointed to the Monmouth County Parks and Recreation Board where I sit on the golf committee as commissioner is one more way I practice protecting open space in our local community. This board is responsible for maintaining the beaches, parks and golf courses as well as monitoring the buying and selling of open space with the county for recreational purposes. I plan to continue this work after being elected to town council because it is such an important issue and concerns all areas of life for my family and for yours.
he issue of protecting open space has and will continue to be one of the main items I will focus on while in office. The open space and the schools are why I moved my family to this area, and I plan to keep it beautiful for everyone.
My family and I like to stay active. I have run two marathons, a handful of ultra-marathons and ran my first triathlon last year. I love skiing and it has become a family activity. We try to grab as much slope time as possible every year.
As a former member of the Board of Education — and parent to four children in the school system — the continued partnership between the town council and Board of Education is paramount to me. I plan to work towards a positive, cohesive relationship and clear line of communication between these two hard working entities. My goal is to work side by side to accomplish great things for our community and our kids.
