Holmdel Township Candidate Spotlight: Committeeman Brian Foster

Today our Candidate Spotlight shines on Committeeman Brian Foster . . .

Today our Candidate Spotlight shines on the newest Committeeman for Holmdel Township Committee, Brian Foster.  Republican Committeeman and Candidate, Brian Foster, has been actively involved in the local Holmdel community since moving here with his family in 2012. With four children at home, Brian and his wife Leslie are heavily involved in the community and school system. Their youngest Keaton attends Village Elementary. Elle and Liam attend Indian Hill. Their oldest Turner is a student at William R Satz Middle School.

Brian previously served as a Holmdel Board of Education member serving as the Budget and Finance chair. During that time, the Board of Education implemented a tax reduction, installed a new Superintendent, finished up the 2020 referendum on time and under budget, while also earmarking funds for the multipurpose turf field that has been in the works for the last eight years. They also ensured the field will be built on school grounds rather than public property.

As a parent to four children in the school system, the continued partnership between the Township Committee and the Board of Education is important to Brian. He plans to work towards a positive, cohesive relationship and clear line of communication between these two hard working entities.

Brian’s extensive community involvement began just after moving to the area. He joined the EMS and served as a volunteer ambulance driver for seven years. He also began coaching for the HYAA that same year celebrating his 11th year coaching for multiple sports since.

In 2015, Brian joined the Holmdel Planning Board and served in this role for five years. His experience on this board will bring added acumen, especially when it comes to the issue of protecting open space and preservation of properties. While serving on the Planning Board, he was responsible for ensuring plans presented were consistent with the master plan.

Brian Foster’s recent appointment to the Monmouth County Parks and Recreation Board where he sits on the golf committee as Commissioner is another way he oversees protecting open space in our local community.

An avid supporter of First Responders and the Holmdel Police Department, Brian is looking forward to strengthening relationships with The Monmouth/Ocean County Auto Theft Task Force and surrounding towns to combat the surge in auto thefts.  Brian supports the use of cutting edge technology along with community outreach and legislation reform for a multi system approach on this issue.

Brian Foster is also the owner of BFF Lending — a thriving mortgage brokerage business located in Holmdel.  As a small business owner in town, he looks forward to establishing good working relationships with existing businesses, especially in the aftermath of pandemic lockdowns.

Brian is looking forward to working with Deputy Mayor DJ Luccarelli and Committeeman Rocco Impreveduto on more programs designed to support and engage the senior citizens and special ways to acknowledge and honor our Township First Responders and Veterans.
